I’m a Total Sell Out

Well I am a total sellout. I broke down yesterday and bought the fancy expensive yarn at my local yarn store. I didn’t go out intending to buy any, but I knew they had it and just wanted to look at it and several other yarns I was interested in. Well they only had 2 skeins of the fancy yarn (I am purposely not naming the brand because it is beautiful yarn and have no ill will towards them in anyway) and it was crazy on sale. It was also in a beautiful blue and I just had to have it.

I will say I went a little nuts and bought several different brands of the much cheaper version of this yarn as well. It is equally lovely, and I am super excited to work with it. I have discovered there are several much more affordable versions of this yarn that are in my opinion just as great as the “designer” yarn. I bought tons of different brands of this hand spun or marled type yarn and I am excited to work with them and discover for myself which ones I like best. I am secretly hoping I like one of the more affordable yarns, but let’s be honest I will probably like the most expensive one best. It makes sense though if you think about it. The more affordable versions of this yarn are all machine dyed and spun so although each skein is unique there is more uniformity to them. The hand dyed and spun yarn is really a work of art in every skein and the labor that goes into each one is much greater (hence why it is so expensive).

It is safe to say I am officially out of my knitting funk and have way too many WIPS (works in progress) on my needles. It’s good to be back. #knittingconfessions.
